write a brief essay on the poem 3

Your essay should be no more than 3 pages (1000 words, maximum) typed and with normal spacing and margins. Be sure to number your pages and to give your essay a title.

Choose one of the following poems:Gertrude Stein, “Stanzas in Meditation”William Carlos Williams, “The Boticellian Trees”Hart Crane, “At Melville’s Tomb”Louis Zukofsky, “Poem Beginning, ‘The’”Elizabeth Bishop, “The Man-Moth”

This time, in addition to the standard three features I’ve been asking about -1) Describe the poem, paying particular attentionto its language, to its form, andto its look. 2) Describe the style of the poem, considering whether it is formal or experimental; vague, specific, or psychological; literary or plain. 3) Describe what it’s like to read the poem, trying to avoid mentioning what you think it might mean –you should also include a sense, briefly, of whether you think the poem at hand shows that it has been influenced by the poetry of the firstwave of Modernism (which is the poetry we have so far been studying). Do you see the poem you write about to be responding (or even reacting) to earlier Modernist poems? If so, how?
