The Essay Proposal—250-300 Words

Your proposal will present your major topic, including your main ideas and thesis statement. You are free to pursue a topic of your own, but you may also select from the following major themes:

1. Isolation and loneliness
2. Women and gender
3. Myth and Allegory
4. Fate and Free Will

Students who wish to select a theme of their own must get permission from the instructor.

Regardless of which theme you choose, your proposal should reference two short stories that you intend to use as your major focus. You must choose two of the stories read in class.
